Post Map of the Sea of Life Region

I am now calling this map finished. I know that I will keep touching it up in the future, but for now I am working on writing the details for the region.

This is the area around the Sea of Life which lies at the northern part of the continent of Greater Arafran.

For some unknown reason, the Sea of Life is somewhat warmer than the Sea of Storms to the north, which helps to moderate the climate around its shores. This has encouraged the growth of the civilizations found in the area. Thus it's name.

Its a really nice map, a personal preference for me would be to give the forest the smallest possible bevel, just to pop it slightly from the map. But the shape of the landmasses and the topography of the map is real great. Good job!

I watched that movie with my kids last night, and had to put that in my map. Of course it will be gone for my actual gaming map.

Very nice map, landorl. I especially like your mountains - how do you do them?

    It's pretty much this tutorial.

I use different textures and such, but this tutorial is a great starting point.

Very nice map! I just couldn't resist commenting on this, however:

"For some unknown reason, the Sea of Life is somewhat warmer than the Sea of Storms to the north,"

Unknown reason? Perhaps a oceanic current of warm water, like the Gulf Stream, or something? Don't know how much of the entire world's climate you have figured, but that could explain it. ^^

    Nice map.

Another reason the Sea of Life is warmer is more south? Maybe volcanic vents beneath?

Warmer = Shallower and/or more enclosed for semi-temperate and more equatorial.
