I particularly like the large body of water north of the Persian Gulf in Iraq.
Here's a map for a game related project. Made in Photoshop. The borders will probably be a little thinner in the finished product.

Looks a lot like the "travel maps" that are superimposed in the Indiana Jones moives when Indy travels. The map borders (pre-WW2) seem to confirm this.
Also, cuba is bent out of shape.
Some islands are larger.
There seems to be a massive lake in eastern Washington state...
I'm not real fond of the Mercator projection and there are lots of fiddly little details that are different (that mod in Iraq would have had profound effects on human history). Otherwise it looks like a good base and is pretty much all recognizable.
Not Realistic. Because there is not "Ukraine" country on your map. and some other.
Looks like the USSR is shown as a single monolith without the individual republic boundaries.
You got me beat. Is this the world after the sea has risen quite a bit ? Or maybe some of it is higher and some lower. My geography is not good enough to know whats sufficiently low and what is not. Around the UK where I am naturally more familiar, I can see that a lot of Wales has gone but Wales is not particularly a low land and the bit that is low seems to be still there.![]()
