I like the second map very much. Good use of color and you give a good impression of height.
What's the first map supposed to represent?

it's the caves in the island, in the second map you can see the entrances, just compare them

I like your style, it reminds me of the things I see at golf clubs. Nice job.

Overall I like it - but the beveling on the 'island' is a bit much for my tastes - it works for the caves though.
