has a link to this lovely map from 1908. It has windows of interest and a lovely character. I'm just looking at it for a inspiration and I thought I'd share. THIS IS NOT MY WORK. I'm posting it here for their bandwidth and for the lifetime of the posting.
I love the faux 3d and the whole presentation of this obviously drawn map. I may try to ape this style in the entries below.
I think it would be a suitable challenge to create something similar - a map with feature windows and a clear sense of style.

Dollhouse Syndrome = The temptation to turn a map into a picture, obscuring the goal of the image with the appeal of cute, or simply available, parts. Maps have clarity through simplification.
