This is the earthlike planet texture I'm currently working on. Because this isn't yet an official part of my job, I only get to work on them in my free time.
With so many extrasolar planets being discovered every year, I want to build an arsenal of fake planet textures we can use for making our own artists' conceptions.
Here is what I have so far, plus a test render with some fake atmosphere added. I need to work on the bump and specularity maps, plus make a cloud map. I may be done with the land masses, unless I want to make a version with glaciers or a light-pollution map.
The sea mask was generated with Wilbur, most of the work is done in GIMP using high-res rock images for land, and the wrapped render is made in Blender.
My Finished Maps | My Challenge Maps | Ghoraja Juun, my largely stagnated campaign setting.
