    Default how easy is it to create a custom overlay for google maps?

    I've had a look around, and can't seem to find anything related to this process. Is it some hard programming level stuff, or is there a simple way to do this? Any help would be good

    It's real easy. You can overlay a whole world into Google Earth. For the web-oriented stuff, such as you have linked, there is a plug-in that you need to get (if I remember right).
