Apply a bevel-and-emboss effect to the regions.
Hi,
I'm trying to get a map made to show the relative heights of various bits of terrain. I have attached the GIMP file and added numeric values for how high each region is in relation to its neighbor. If anyone could help me out or help me learn how to express these values as a terrain height I'd be much appreciative.

Gimp can do that effect as well. If you don't already have it here is the Plug-In for it,![]()

Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.
