Help Where to go from here? [CASTLE MAP]

EDIT: The design has changed. I currently have no sketch, but the image I had put up is now irrelevant. The request for pointers about cleaning it up and making it presentable and useful remain, though.

I just finished making, tracing and scanning a base sketch for a castle.

Given I have access to Photoshop, though wanting to pick up GIMP, I want to know how to continue.

    First, the map:

The directions I want to go are as follows: Convert it into a good looking bird's view with shingled roofs and all; and do floor plans with details.

The latter, I have a sense on how, but would appreciate some pointers. The prior... I was wondering if someone could give me a link, or some pointers, on how to produce something similar to this:

Beyond pointers and guidance, I would appreciate opinions on the sketch base.

Good day and thanks in advance.

Hey there! Nothing to suggest, but thought I would say "good start"! I especially like the textures you used for the grass and roads--very clean and doesn't look tiled at all: are they textures you can share?

The second picture is not mine. Nor do I seem to have claimed it as such. The first is mine, which is just a not-very-quick and outdated sketch.
