    Fellow Cartographers,

We're now launching our 2012 donation drive in order to fund a major server upgrade. This upgrade will move us to a dedicated server, which should increase performance quite significantly. This will also open us up to some of our more advanced growth endeavors which we'll be detailing in the near future. Anyone who was previously listed as a donor that hasn't donated in the past 6 months will have their donor status removed. We thank you all for your continued support of The Cartographers' Guild!

Recently, I shared The Cartographers' Guild over at the worldbuilding subreddit of reddit.com. The link was quite popular, getting 113 upvotes and a good bit of discussion.

The worldbuilding subreddit mod's added The Cartographers' Guild to the sidebar as a permanent link, which we definitely appreciate! I'd like to personally welcome all redditors who've wandered over here!

I encourage you all to create accounts and join in our discussions as well.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Cartographers' Guild,

We need a Public Relations person to handle all of our, well, public relations bits! I figured it best to go to the community to look for one, that way anyone can step up, not just a CL. We're looking for someone who is active or at least aware of the daily activity that takes place site-wide, and is able to devote some time almost daily to scouring the community for interesting tid-bits and promoting those tid-bits to the rest of the community. This will involve making posts and promoting threads to the front "news/articles" page of the site, promoting and encouraging the use of the guilds blog feature, checking the PR email address (soon to be publicized), and managing the guilds' social networks (currently twitter, facebook, and google+).

In addition to being active and aware of what's going on here, we'd also like the PR Rep to be active or aware of what's going on outside of the Guild in the world of mapping and gaming, and anything that is posted elsewhere by other sites related to mapping or even our own industry professionals gets cross-posted or reposted on our front page and social networks.

If this sounds like a job you'd be willing to help us out with, please email me at press @ cartographersguild.com or PM me through the site with a pitch for yourself and why you'd like to volunteer for this position. If you'd like more information, you may post in the original thread or email me directly.

I just sent an email out to most everyone. Some of you got it last night, some of you got it this morning. I wanted to take this opportunity to reach out and let everyone know that we've made some important changes to things around ...

I just upgraded the software, and wanted to let you all know there may be some style problems. I'm working on resolving those now. If there are any areas of the site that are unreadable or if you notice any errors or problems or missing functionality (besides the internal server errors) please let me know by posting here.
This upgrade is to fix a number of security items as well as provide improved stability.

Thanks for being patient with us as this transition occurs.
