Chronicles of Sound - World Map
First off, this site is awesome. Chronicles of Sound is preparing for it's first release - Revolutions: Part I. It is a graphic novel and accompanying album that serves as a soundtrack to further develop the characters and places in the world of Amaris. We would like to have a world map of Amaris and hope someone here is interested in creating that map for us.
Amaris is a class M planet supporting humanoid life. The Golden Age of the civilization on the planet was based on mechanical technology. The scientists of the day found a way to harness the rotational energy of the planet and use it to power massive systems of gears that spread as far as the eye could see. There is a definite steampunk vibe, but it's not a full on steampunk setting.
The villain in the story sucked all of the rotational energy out of the planet thereby causing it to be in synchronous rotation with the star it orbits. One side of the planet faces the sun constantly, the other is shrouded in darkness. Much of the old technology is in ruins.
Description of Map
The map is a full world map. I have attached a really crappy mock up that we drew. This was just for us to get a grounding of how the world is generally laid out. We would like someone to take it and not just make it look good in terms of color/style/detail but also to make it more realistic in terms of land mass distribution and whatever other problems you see with the current iteration. Think of this as more of a basic template. We don't want to restrict someone's awesome ideas because it's not in our mockup. You are the expert.
I trolled around on this site for a while and found some work that we liked. Here are some examples (in no particular order):
- Full Color
- Vector graphic would be preferred
- If you don't work with vector graphics it would need to be sufficient size and resolution to be blown up to 24x36 and still look great
We would be using this image all over the place and selling posters of it, so we would need copyright. You would of course be free to display it for your own promotion/use.
We would like to have it completed in 2-3 months.
Negotiable, it really depends on your experience and turnaround time. Email me to discuss payment.

I approved your request/post. Good luck with it!
We've found someone to create our map! Thanks to everyone who offered their services.
