I need to finish the month's Challenge first, but when that's done, I'll start working on this. May not be for a week or two though.

Just a quick rough draft of terrain types. Snow covered northern reaches, temperate lands between the north and the center of the map, semi-arid mediterranean type lands around the central seas, arid desert in the center of the southern continent, and hot jungle in the island lands of the southeast.

Working on mountains now based on the "tentative little squigglies" I drew out, will make rivers make more sense after that.

New Cartographer here, but I'll throw my hat in the ring as well. Any color ideas / map styles you have in mind?

    Hey gang!

Got the offset proof copy of the Chinese prints and I thought you might like to see them, since it's like the prize and all

Sadly they sent this copy in a soft media-mailer and it got folded by the post office. I'll be sending out the prize in a rigid mailer, no worries there!

Can't wait to see more submissions for this contest!

    Cheers!

I enjoy how it looks roughly like the Earth but with many changes and modifications. Good stuff.

Here's my first take. Still thinking about where forests and jungles are going to be, but I'm thinking most of the eastern part of the big northeastern continent is desert. I thought I'd set this up as a southern hemisphere, since you don't often see that for some reason in fantasy maps. That'll make that huge archipelago in the southeast a pretty temperate place (I think), maybe a good place for an empire to begin...

Outstanding stuff! Looks cool and I like your Southern Hemisphere thoughts.

Can't wait to see how it continues
