This is an abstract alpha map that I had for awhile. I didn't think that I would use it because the shape looked kinda funky. The only real editing I did on the map so far was to apply OldGuy's tut on it.

I think we are supposed to use the one supplied in the challenge description. If I'm wrong I need to know about it before I start on it :)
Jaxillon has it correct. The challenge requires that you use the shapes in the main challenge for this one.
Oh, oops, silly me. I'll see what I can do with the provided image.
Okay, after some fiddling around with the provided map I decided to do a blue marble type (half) globe. I still have to add an atmosphere and shading but here is what I got so far. The terrain was generated in Wilbur and then colored in GIMP.
I don't think that it is too much to ask, but could a community leader change the title of my entry to "A Blue Marble"?

That's looking pretty nice!
I used (public domain) NASA images to give it a more satellite view. I still have to add clouds, but here is the latest WIP.

Lookin good, lookin good. You might think about putting a 'highlight' on the planet's surface opposite the shadow, to better show the sun's position.
