March/April Lite Challenge Entry: Hall of gathering
As there is no other entry I fell compeled to do something. I hav to admit that I have a hard time coming up wirh something as I never did a dungeon tile, battlemap or anything similar. I´ll look at it like a challengeSo I want to to a hall for some mages to gahter and debate, probably with an audience on the raised plattforms. I played around to get a 3d top down look which messed up the tiling to look good. Anyway I was pleased with the technique. It´s just a single floortile for now, something that is clearly visible. I´ll redo that. But here is my start within the rather strict limitations of this challenge....

Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.

Good start. As you go forward, please check that you're within the scope of the challenge (15 squares to a side, 100px per square and the walls are solid black). There are example blanks in the challenge thread now. I don't think you'll have any difficulty with fitting this within that scope. Looks like a fun layout to begin with.

So there is some progress. First shot at a stair, some custom mage table using the arcane circle brushes from obsidiandawn and some chairs by profantasy dd3. Going forward with the stairs next time. I think I´m now within the parameters...

That is so very cool. Makes me want to sit in the gallery and listen to the mages argue.

Building a frame for the debating pit...
(I´ve tried and tried but could not insert a thumb inline.. has to be server sided, any ideas? )

Very cool Troedel, that frame is an excellent addition. Is there going to be seating in the upper tier?
That´s something to consider. I just fear that the whole map will look rather crowded. Checking it out the next few days. THX for suggesting.
