    Default May 2011 Challenge Entry - The Kingdom of Thulaan

    So I haven't thrown my hat into the ring for one of these for a long time, but this one's pretty timely. I've been promising to map the main country of a campaign I'm playing in for a while now and this seems perfect for it. Here's the basic lines:

    Not sure whether to keep this back to line art and labels or whether to go full colour. I'll have a play and see how it goes.

    Very nice :] I like the mountains. But I would like a better distinction from sea and land.. Just my opinion.

    For the sea - I'm probably going to use a wash of colour to distinguish the two, or some inked waves and ripples to clarify the boundary.

    Already very nice. I'm SO glad I picked this month to enter a challenge..

    Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.
