I used a base layer of a sandy tan, and added a blue sea color layer and the original cloud image both on "burn" mode with layer masks. On top of all of that were two layers of solid noise clouds on overlay.

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood. All the history and information about each place I made up after starting this map. Except a few little pieces that were recycled, and the bits that were obviously stolen from history.

Love the new border. The shield is cool and I love how you used a dried/cracked mud texture to make the border, it looks great! Is the shield original or is it something that can be downloaded?

I started with an image I found online, and used textures and bump maps to make the shield as it is now.
