It's looking excellent so far. Testing the boundaries for colour schemes is a good idea. You never know, you might just come up with the next big style!

Looking very nice so far! I concur with Eilathen though it's maybe a bit dark.

Minor Update, color corrected and lighten up the map in general.

I think I liked it better dark; the over-saturated colors in the water are fighting now (at least on my screen)... or maybe it's just that you cropped out the border and land under it. The style in general looks good, S. Rough dark ink and color wash. It works for you. The only thing that gets lost a bit is the higher peaks where you've washed over the ridges... difficult to see... you might erase/mask off the ink wash a bit in those places.

Good to see you around and mapping.

nice stuff, especially considering the time it took. at least i don't need to bother with finishing mine now looks like a weathered, well-used map

I think i will stick to something inbetween the two colors and redraw the peaks a bit

Yeah I think I preferred the darker version too. I still think this is looking great, and I suppose time is nearly up for the challenge, but after looking at this for a while I noticed one thing which started to bother me: the trees have no shadows. From a distance that doesn't matter, but up close it stands out a bit. I absolutely love those mountains, though.
