Aug/Sept 2014 Lite Challenge: Lakelands of Deggenheim
So here is my first post and first map challenge entry.
Deggenheim sits smack square in the middle of the appropriately named deggenheimer lake. It's a section of a larger lakeland country, similar to the masurian lakeland in Poland, and in this case I am assuming also in the border area between two contending greater power needing the access and traderoutes that pass through Deggenheim, who of course only offer access to these to the highest bidder!
The map as such is no finished yet, still missing mountains, more forests, town and villages and their labels, as well as maybe some borders and general colouring.
Welcome to the Guild, bonus points for jumping right into a Challenge!
Nice map, I like that you took the opposite approach and used the blobs as water not land.
Minor nitpick is you have several rivers that are unusual. Rivers don't normally take multiple paths to get from point A to point B. It is not impossible, but you have this happening a lot, which is unlikely.
This is what I am referring to:
Overall, though, very nice!
