Very brave! What software did you choose to animate with?

Or foolish! I find the monthly challenges are a really good way of learning something new. I'm using Serif Drawplus X2 to draw and animate.

Getting seriously fed up with the animation thing...decided to work on the map instead and put in some colour. Do the mountain colours now look weird they're in black/white and grey?

Oooh pretty I think the mountains look great - my one comment would be that the sand is the wrong color though ^.^ From the description, the ocean is basically fingernail pink....an odd color for sand...

But I love how its turning out, the perspective is awesome. And Lemis Cove is very neat

I got rid of the old dunes and used a bitmap fill (desert now pink - thanks, Amonite!). I think drawn dunes would look better than the bitmap (I'm also thinking of losing the bitmap of the green bit) - it looks to me that there are too many clashing styles - what do you think?

The angle of the lettering of the Great Eastern Range looks off and I think I need to reduce the line weight of the northern coastline I'm also thinking about cropping the map...I just have this feeling that the map is missing something, but I'm not sure what it is. All help gratefully received!

I really like the perspecive idea of the map--that's a sweet "hook" for the eye. I wonder if the true culprit in your feeling "something is missing" is the mood of the map. Does the color scheme, lovely graphics, & calligraphic lettering fits the feel of such a desolate place? I wonder if that's the underlying issue?
