Tactical Map

Okay, another thought.

What are the main few uses of maps... at least in most people's minds?

1. How to get from A to B in my car.
2. X marks the post for Paiiiirrrate Treeaaazzzzuuure
3. Wars


Time maybe to suggest that we have our various luminaries make Tactical Maps. These could be:

• Spanish Armada-type naval maps
• Ancient Roman "here be the Gauls" maps
• 20th Century "And the French retreated to here..."
• Apocalyptic World Maps (aka Warhammer 40k, etc)
• Starmaps aka "Romulans off the starboard bow!"
• Something else that hasn't entered into my brain yet...

What do you collective diagrammatical trouble-makers think of this?

Tactical maps .. great! I already see some generals standing around the map moving little cannons and soldiers around :D

Saw the Romulan thing and it made me think of an old song with a chorus of "There's Klingons off the starboard bow". My vote would have been yes otherwise. We did something like this last December (I think), but with a new crop of recruits, members, maybe we could do another one.
