I don't know if it has already been posted, but looking for something else, I've (re)found the fonts that ESRI's (ArcMap) created to help the creation of historical-looking maps. I thought it could interest you guys.
Go to ESRI Mapping Center and scroll down to "Historical".
The package contains fonts for Creatures, Ships, Hills, ...
