Hi all
I've been roleplaying for quite some time and more often than not I will be the DM/GM. I have drawn hundreds of maps of all sorts of things using pencil and paper. My art skills are crap but my map drawing skills are apparently quite adequate, lol. I really look forward to seeing some new ideas here and hopefully getting familiarized with some programs that will make map creation simpler and/or more interesting.

Hi Todd, and welcome to the guild. There are a lot of great tutorials depending on your choice of "weapon", myself I use Photoshop for most, but many inhere use the free program GIMP which is also a great program. If you want more ready to use then Campaign Cartotgrapher might be interesting. And when you're ready to map, post in the WIP section for help and critique

Welcome..as a newbie GIMP user I can tell you it's great. There are plenty of knowledgeable members here willing to help you out too
Finished Maps
Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.
