    hi there! so, i just found this site - through random google searching as to how to create maps via gimp, and here i am. my name's mace - i'm seventeen, and i just graduated high school as of a couple of days ago. how exciting, i know. i'm planning to stick around for quite some time, and learn how to create proper maps but i can now tell you, i'm off to make a request for a map because well, i can't make one to save my life. seriously. i'm suppose to be on a month hiatus, but as you can tell i'm breaking those laws as i'm typing this, because i'm off to be studying for my sat, a levels, whatever you guys call it. here in australia, it's called hsc. BUT ANYWAYS, I'M RAMBLING. but yes, hello (:

    Welcome to the Guild (oh and ramble away..I do it all the time.. )

    Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.

    Welcome. I would suggest that you avoid reading the tutorials until you finish your exams though. No point in getting sidetracked now...It's only a few more weeks. Then you can map all you like.
