    Hi there. My name is Synthesis.

    I found this forum through a topic on National Novel Writing Month about maps and I have to say, I'm in love! The community seems so friendly! I'm usually to shy to post these kinds of things.

    Currently, I'm a college brat studying to be an illustrator. My dream would actually be to illustrate book covers, since it brings together my two loves of story telling and art. It'll be a long road; I'm not very good at art, but I'll get there one day. Hmm, intros are so awkward to write. (: I love writing, and making up imaginary places, and maps for those places. My gosh you are all so incredibly talented and skilled! I am awestruck by what I've seen here.

    Well, that's my short introduction. Hiya!

    Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.
