Howdy
I've been lurking for a while and I think it's time to join the community.
I found this site one day when I was searching for tutorials on how to make maps. City maps are my favorite, but I enjoy world and regional maps too. I'm an amateur, but you have a bunch of tutorials so I think I'll learn fast.

Finished Maps
Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.
