Hello there
Heya folks,
I'm Greg and was introduced to surveying when I was given lead of the first surveying crew in the construction company I worked for. Ever since then Ive been fascinated by cartography and land surveying in general. Lately Ive been taking measurements of my local neighborhood in plans to create a by-hand accurate map of my neighborhood street by street. I've also been playing around with software (Fractal Mapper 8 mainly) for creating maps for fantasy games Ive been playing with. I've come here in hopes to be able to learn a lot from the more experienced members.

Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.
