Hi! I found this forum doing a search for fantasy cities. I am a writer and I seem to find myself in need of maps a great deal. I'm an artist too and I put together my own maps and while I can draw a decent continent cities are a lot harder! So I am hoping to get some help here!

Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.

Hiya Chehime! IMO cities are the most time consuming things to map - they can drive you mad. We have a special asylum here for people who map cities

Yeah... cities... I'm trying to get a map of the made up Maine town my novel takes place in and I just kinda... quit.
I'm almost thinking of scanning and copmpositing other maps but I haven't tried it yet, and I have the town in my head, it just isn't coming out on paper.
Don't give up. There are plenty of resources available to help.
