My new addiction...
Hello everyone!
I have recently discovered this forum and have many things in common with the community here. Love to play RPG's, Computer Games, Board Games, Read, and now Mapping. I have a good background in art, having been influenced by my friends that I grew up with. They are now outstanding artists making a good living.
I have also been influenced by the likes of Tolkien, Terry Brooks, and Lovecraft. I especially like the maps of the computer games Guild Wars and World of Warcraft.
Anyway I am hoping that I can make friends here and become a better mapper.

Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.
