Hello.
By profession, I am a musician and performing arts administrator with an ever deepening interest in learning more about map making skills and how they may bring new perspective for negotiating uncharted territory that the arts finds itself in. Yesterday as I was doing a broad-based concept search, I came across Steven R. Holloway's map making manifesto, "Right Map Making : Five Ways to Make Maps for a Future to be Possible," which stated a creed "to stimulate and encourage right action." I believe this is the intersection of map making and planning in the performing arts. I need your insights. I have started a thread in the Mapping Resources forum/How do I? / Creating maps for performing arts planning (and other dynamic environments).

Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.
