Hey folks!
Hi,
First of all: I'm from Germany, so please apologize the (hopefully few) mistakes in my English ;-).
I always loved looking at maps, whether historical or fantasy ones (especially Lord of the Rings), due to the fact that my imagination had no borders while looking at them.
I thus thought it would be great building my own maps on the PC with Photoshop. You know, like "Can't be that hard to do". But I have to admit that it's, indeed, quite hard work to get a decent result.
Looking forward to learn the mapping basics and maybe more from this forum, I hope that I can soon post my first passably looking maps!
I hope for honest feedback :-).

Finished Maps
Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.
