My name is Georgiy, and i'm from Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
Stopped at this site by google-chace and here for some hours. You have some very interesting collection of tutorials, maps etc. Great for my ideas - create some maps for my fantasy worlds for my book (started writing one about .5 year ago and want to draw "environment" where the actions take place).

Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.
