I created an account here to look for inspiration and information about creating maps. I'm a writing and am currently working on a fantasy project that I'm hellbent on completing.
I have a hand drawn map that is a bit crude, but functional. Perhaps when I re-draw it I may upload it, but probably not until the book is copyrighted and released.

Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.
