I've been using this amazing site for some time, but finally got my first map to something even remotely presentable. My friends and I have been playing DnD (now Pathfinder) since '99 and our main DM has been playing since he was a kid. We've been playing in his world for almost as long as we've been playing together, and we have lived with colored pencil and graph paper maps for all this time until I fell off a roof and broke my foot and suddenly had a lot of time on my hands.
So after reading a lot of different tutorials on here and a lot of failed starts I finally cobbled together something. I guess I'll post that as a WIP in the World Mapping one but figured I should post here before I do.

Welcome to the Guild.
Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.
