Hi! I'm Harry... but blindkingofbohemia or whatever else you want worksI'm mostly a writer, but I've gotten sick of having to refer to hand-drawn maps etc, and this seems like the place to be for those who want to learn about digital mapping, so here I am! Sadly, because I don't use photoshop most of these tutorials don't seem to apply to me, but I'll keep looking around
Welcome aboard! There are a bunch of GIMP tutorials here and once you know it you can probably work your way through the PS tutorials anyway. A good portion of the great PS tutorials have been translated into Gimp as well so don't be afraid to check in the thread just in case there is a link for a Gimp version.
Oh, and we love hand-drawn maps around here too.

Like Jax mentioned, there are indeed several fine GIMP tuts here at the Guild so don't despair. Also, just an aside, I'm heading to Auckland in January to do a PhD, can't wait to see your lovely country once again.
