I think, as Gameprinter said, there are tons of programs you could use, both specifically created for cartography and otherwise. ut do not let your procilvity to use the pencil stop you from that--especially if you are artistically inclined. I think many--if not most--of my favorite maps are hand-drawn, then colored/touched up in a raster application (like Photoshop or the free GIMP). Take a look around here & you'll see what I mean.
