    Hi there Dallasdowdy, I'm an Oregon expat myself (originally from Sandy, and an alumni of OSU). Question. Are you interested in making your own maps and are requesting some pointers, or are you looking to commission a map? If the former, the best thing to do is to put up a work-in-progress map of the world you are working for, along with your design goals, and request feedback/critique. If the latter, check out the Read Me on map commissions in the map requests forum.
