    Post Green

    Hello to all!

I guess I'm about as green as they come with regards to creating maps via software. The extent of my experience was creating them by hand. I've had a fondness for cartography since my initial introduction to Basic D&D back in the 8th grade (ohh, so long ago). Since then my passion has been the Planescape setting despite the progression to 4E.

I recently acquired Photoshop and one of teh design modules but I've not attempted to attack any major projects. After an 8-9 hour shift, either parenting or organizational obligations consume most of my free time. Nonetheless, I plan to get my feet wet on the horizon and turn out some projects.

    Welcome Agamemnon!
I'm hacking my way into the cartographical realm with AutoRealm, AutoCAD, GIMP, and Google Sketchup as my tools!

    Post Welcome!

    Welcome, Agamemnon.

There are many great tutorials on the site that will help you get started creating maps. I certainly look forward to chatting with you.

By the way, eighth grade for me was the 1963 - 1964 school year...

    Regards,

    Gary

Good to have you here, Agamemnon! As vandy said, lots of tutorials to learn from here. Read the Gimp tutorials too as you can use them with photoshop.

One of the most underrated tutorials (IMO) is RobA's on how to create coastlines.
