Hi all - I was looking for a photoshop tutorial in mapmaking and got onto this site due to Ravells excellent guide.
My attempts at maps before the tutorial were like this:
And the current one i'm working on is here:
So that's a big improvement
I've also been using wilbur for the shadows and rivers - takes a little getting used to, but amazing once it starts working.
I've seen a few cool tutorials for "ye olde mappe" styles, so that might be the next project...

Glad you found the tutorial helpful. That's a great improvement. Really nice 3d effect you have going with the new map.
