Hi there,
I'm Gaurav. I've always loved maps, and I can't believe I found a bunch of people who make and share beautiful maps for free! I can see I'm going to spend a lot of time wandering around the finished maps threads.
I'm crap at anything and everything artful, but I'm going to need to learn basic techniques in making D&D battlemaps and region maps - nothing fancy, just something good enough to set up stories and provide fun environments to play in. My dream would be to create the kind of maps I love most: detailed, information-rich snapshots of a believable world.
Thanks for creating this forum! I'll see you around.

Steel General: Thanks! I already have, but haven't found anything that's really made me gasp yet (although, of course, I've barely scratched the surface). I'll probably look for a map style I really like, then work backwards to find tutorials by those or similar cartographers. So far, so great: I've found a couple of absolutely beautiful maps!
