The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.
If this is your first visit, be sure to check out the FAQ. You will have to register before you can post or view full size images in the forums.
Thanks for the rep on my Val Nevan map!
Thanks Phil, I did decide to go with the clumps.
Wow thanks Phil! Actually it's been quite a while since I've done any cartography. I've been meaning to get back into it but there never seems to be enough time. I have not published anything at this point, but perhaps some day I'll look into it. At any rate, I wish you the best in your own artistic endeavors!
Hey there Philp Stephen. I wanted to thank you for the rep, and for the encouraging words. I do have a Deviantart page (here) but I haven't got much work on it, other than a couple of maps and my current painting project. Now that I've had a taste of painting though that is going to change.
By the way, I took a peak at your website and I gotta say, I like your philosophy on life and on art. You seem like a genuine person, someone whose doing his part to give something back to this messed up world. I solute you!
Cheers for the rep man but really I came here to say...
When are you gonna finish your map?
Yeah I was in Vancouver a couple years ago, for about 8 years. I live in Brighton now. Thanks!
thanks for the rep
