The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.

Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

Biography:: I'm a writer, who has been at it for almost 30 years. I started my first serious book at 5. (It was very bad) I'm trying to learn enough about these softwares so that i can create my own maps. Yes it's easier to get someone else to do it for me if i could pay them, but i'm stubborn. I dont want anyone else to do them, I want to do them myself. I have been lurking around the cartographer's guild for a little over a year, nut i'm not very good and i get frustrated very easily. I have a husband 2 half grown children and 2 cats. I love everything sci fi and fantasy and want to be a world renowned best selling author when i grow up.

Interests:: Reading Writing, Worldbuilding, sewing, caking, swordfighting and lots of other stuff.

Software Used:: Gimp, just downloaded wilbur, looking into fractal?, possibly inkscape. A friend is going to help me get photoshop (hopefully) and Paint
