Only just picked up your message so sorry about the delay (I don't get on CG much nowadays). I've read your message and I can appreciate where you are up to but I'm not sure I fully understand your problem. When you say 'the layer effect applies it to each masked area rather than each house' I'm not clear what you mean. Could you describe how it looks or exactly what you're doing?

Hopefully you've sorted the issue by now, but if you've given up or left it I'm willing to try and help you where I can.

AidyBaby, Not sure if you'll get this but I was hoping that you help me a bit with a step or two in your Gullside tutorial. I started following the tutorial (trying to learn PS in the process of following the tutorials on the website) and got to the bit where ive created the buildings on the map with pattern layers.
Now when I apply Blending options it applies it to each masked area, rather than each individual house in the pattern. Not sure if teh pattern is wrong or the mask or something else and ive been tearing my hair out for two days over this.
Any help would be much appreciated.
