    Hi Bruno, thanks for the comment. I used GIMP to create the basic outline and height map, I modified the height map using Wilbur, and then I imported it back to GIMP for the finishing work. Actually, I have written a tutorial that explains most of the steps involved, however, since I can't seem to post the link here, I've posted a link to the tutorial over at my maps page, just below the one you commented on.
