I really like your waterfall city! One of the best city maps I've seen. If you have a minute, would you mind commenting on my latest map, Northern Lands of Yothra? it's under WIP World/Regional. Thank you so much.

Very beautiful. What is the font (and would it be free to use)?

Well, real Ireland does not have many "true" mountains, does it? So the map is more or less accurate in that respect.

The plains look a little too much like the sea, methinks.

Very nice layout. I think it would look better if you made the black outlines thinner (like 2px maximum) and you did the walls with a less strong trait. What program did you use? Edit: also,...

I'm proceeding very slowly lately, mostly due to real-world businesses. Anyway, at this point we should see the switch from a mainly wooden town to a brick and/or stone city. Problem is, which one...

I read somewhere that in the past few years most historians have come to think that "insula" was the generic term denoting a lot of urban land where a dwelling could be built, regardless of what was...

This is the finished version of this stage. I forgot to add a scale but I will for future updates (if I remember!). I added a few more buildings, and made most of them smaller than the previous...

@Azelor: The layer only contains solid shapes 100% white. The only thing that could plausibly change whether a pixel is "counted" or not is anti-aliasing, and in fact de-selecting anti-aliasing I get...

I would not think so, it's actually all white shapes, though maybe with antialiasing... However, since I am subtracting a magic-wand selection with 0 tolerance, any pixel which is even 0.1% opaque...

Consider also that only two villages are actually connected by land. In the other cases, you just cannot walk from one to another. There is a lot of water in between. (notice that even the smaller...

That's a good point. One of the many things I am not is an architect (or, make it two, an engineer). However I would guess that if the water is shallow enough that you can easily plant as many spans'...

Does not the dpi mean something only when you are printing? On your monitor you only see pixels anyway, if you have a 3000px*2000px image, you will see it all the same way (both in photoshop/gimp and...

In terms of realism and beauty, you are right. The problem is that if I make the main channel realistically wide (say 500m or more), then it would also be unbridgeable, defeating the story-driven...
