"What did you like and what could have been better ?" I liked all the great maps and art, and it could have been better if I got a few more votes.... Oh, you meant about your map?
What I liked was the overall design of the ship and the presentation. What could have been better is the floor plans are all to rectangular, especially for a ship with such flowing outlines.

Once again I find myself in the claws of artistic crisis. I have been away from mapping for some time now and find myself both bereft of motivation and for the first time also of inspiration. To add...

lostatsea liked post by Lingon On thread : Art or Cartogrpahy - What is a map?
I'd just like to chip something in in the decorations-vs-no-decorations discussion. I'm still new in this hobby compared to most here, but… I think a map that is strictly information only misses one...

lostatsea liked post by Diamond On thread : Art or Cartogrpahy - What is a map?
Personally, I can't agree with that. Having all the relevant information to make the map function in the manner in which it was intended is necessary, of course. But it also needs life, and...

I'd call this interpretive overlook sign a map. On the verge of being a annotated artwork, but technically, a map, and as others note above, art& science, photo& drawing, vertical, midperspective,...

These were made using pencils and stumps. The first was in an A3 sketchbook while second image was drawn on copier paper.. and now has (balloon shaped?) water stain/ rust/ mold on it. Both are...

lostatsea liked post by waldronate On thread : January/February 2014 Lite Challenge: The Children of the Ouroboros
Most likely it's just a matter of over-broad filtering on the association elements combined with a huge store of elements to match against. That way you get fuzzy matches to a whole lot of subjects...

Nice work, EruSilme, and welcome to the Guild (belatedly)... It was fairly smalll effort for you to make those mountains, but the fictional Company cartographer obviously spent a lot of effort...

lostatsea liked post by Lingon On thread : AUGUST 2013 Entry - Well of Lost Souls
Honestly, I like the previous version better; the ultra-high contrast made it quite special and the colors where more pleasing to the eye, I think. It's a great map, whichever version you use as the...
