    I'll cull my messages.
  2. No way! I thought I was the only one who remembered it

I loved that system - although it did become known in my circles as "MikeMaster(tm)" because I'd kinda streamlined a lot of the rules - I just loved the way that you could have such versatility of characters, the development point system just worked. It's going to be my benchmark for any game I (eventually) make

"I come from a Rolemaster background (if you can remember that far back)"

Dude! I think I just racked up my 1000th day of rolemaster GMing a few weeks ago.
  4. It's kind of a two-part project, the first part is to develop a setting which is a lot harder than I thought it'd be to be honest, I hope to develop a system to go with it at some point. I come from a Rolemaster background (if you can remember that far back) and I always really liked the Shadow World game setting so that's my inspiration - I hadn't expected to have to learn an entirely new skill-set to bring it to life though but I must say I've had less enjoyable skills to learn over the years.

Hey, are you developing a fantasy RPG? I'd like to know more.
  6. You're right...I've lived this life of anonymous villainy long enough, I'll sort it out!

Hi I am glad you like the maps.

There are a few tutorials around on creating maps in photoshop if you want specific steps.
I haven't read the tutes myself but Ascension and Pasis have great reputations for that.
But I tend to rely on intuition and experimentation. So I can't tell you exactly what I did on previous maps.

Most landscape features like hills are created by bevel/emboss effects combined with textures. For mountains you need to build them up with a few layers. I sometimes also use fliters at very low opacity to enhance the image. Forests etc are created with pattern stamps and layer effects. For my next project I will take notes and post them with my WIPs.

But you would probably benefit even more from just searching photoshop tutorials in the Tutorial/ How To section of the guild.

edit: I have started a regional map earlier today...please check it out...I'd like your feed back
