veracusse liked post by Midgardsormr On thread : Topographical map -- Regional map of Sum Lung Province
I think I'd use a simple dot for the settlement symbols. Or create a variety of symbols that have layouts that would be recognizable as that particular settlement. As it is, it's pretty obvious that...

veracusse liked post by waldronate On thread : Help! Feel like I've reached a dead end with my world map! Advice needed.
How much smaller than Earth? Scale is critical to getting mountains and rivers right. For worlds much smaller than Earth (not that we have many examples), tectonics are unlikely to play a big part...

veracusse liked post by Midgardsormr On thread : How to get your rivers in the right place
I found an interesting factoid that probably only the most ardent of us will apply: The ratio between the length of a meandering river and the length of a line drawn from its source to its mouth...

veracusse liked post by Chashio On thread : WIP - Pencil Map
A soft update. Last night I was sketching (whilst trying to keep a low isometric perspective) a river rolling down through some mountains/hills off a high plateau, with a succession of waterfalls. So...

I have a tendency to leave unfinished projects laying around in obvious places, and I add to them little bits at a time. This map has been sitting on my table for about a week now... first photo I've...

How many of you have tried to figure out what buildings (type and number) you would need when designing a settlement? Well, this is an attempt to start a thread (perhaps sticky) for all of the...
