Nice resource, thanks for posting!
I found an excellent cartography website called Decorative Maps. It has awesome info on ornaments & embellishment, compass rose designs & rhumb lines, map design & layout, and my personal favorite: map symbols.
As an example, checkout an image about relative sized mountain symbols from the map symbols page:

Dear lord I'd go nuts putting in all of those hills and mtns and shading them all. Also, where would I put my trees? Excellent inspiration, though. Nice find. The Gutierrez map on one of the pages is probably my favorite of all time.

Really great stuff!
Does anyone know where can I find that mountain brush?
I think you will have to make your own. If you google 'Erwin Raisz' you should find more examples around.
