Link panorama-map.com: gallery of hand drawn maps (lots of mountains)

    http://www.panorama-map.com/Gallery/...tionindex.html

    From their "About this site":
"Panoramic, or birds-eye-view maps convey more than just simple geographical information, they give the viewer a real sense of the terrain as seen from a human perspective. These maps are a joy to explore and they convey the artist's love of his subject matter. This collection focuses on painted landscape panoramas from the 1870s to present day, when the panoramic artist is being replaced by computers and sophisticated satellites."

site navigation is just a bit tricky:
click "LISTING BY ARTIST/PUBLISHER" near the top of the page,
then click either the "European artists" or "North American Artists" links at the bottom of the page.

just a few examples from the site:

Oh they are so cool. When I went to Switzerland a very long time ago now - Lucern I think it was - I bought one just like this. In fact its so similar I think it might be by the same people. I tried to use it as a role play map at the time but I found it hard but anyway its a work of art all the same.

Great find. People who do these are very skilled.

Cool find. Wish I could paint like that.
