Photos from my trip
Here are a few "reference photos" I took while on my trip.
These are all from Masada, in Israel. This was a palace built by the Roman king Herod as an eastern escape put (as far as they know) he never went there.

Not seeing a few of the last photos - do you need another post to get them in ? Interesting trip - was this recent, like in the middle of the fighting ?

@RR - It was recent. We headed there on Dec 26. Stayed in Israel for a week then headed to Cairo. Jumped Down to Memphis and cruised the Nile to Aswan.
I uploaded the photos here that some might find interesting. If you want to kill some time, the Israel album of mainly architectural and landscape shots is up atgoogle albums.
These photos were all taken with my new DSLR (Canon XS). I came back with over 5 GB of photos.

You arrived on 26th, war breaks out next day... did you not tip the waiters or something... :P
Nice pics. Interesting area id like to see if it would only calm down for a while.

Honestly, I never felt in danger there.
We were kept away from potential hot-spots by the local authorities. (We didn't get to see the mount of olives because of that).
Though it was pretty weird because all the shops were closed in the Jerusalem Old City markets in protest.
