Thread: First attempt at a map

Hi wonderful people.

This is for a campaign I will be DM'ing in about a month, to give the players a feel of the world they are in. It is an attempt to make a historical looking map, but with a slightly bolder colours.



As you can see, it is far from finished, but I am quite at a loss regarding what I should do now. I am planning to ad some kind of border lining at the edge as well as a compass rose. Further more I do not know which amount of details is appropriate (It already seems a little crowded to my newbie eyes).

I'm not quite happy with the mountains and especially the trees. I would like them to be less cartoon like, but I do not know how to achieve that.
